Game developed for Mini Jam 198: Speed

You think fast, but enemies move faster. Plan your next moves in a short window to avoid quick attacks.

Controls

Control player with WASD or arrow keys.

Gameplay

Every round, enemies will spawn in a sequence. That's how they'll attack.

Your goal is to plan and input all moves necessary to not get hit. Then, all enemy attacks AND your moves will play out in sequence.

The game gets quicker every round! How far can you go? Try to beat my high-score of 30!

Development

Unfortunately, I only managed to rack up about 10 - 12h total in those 3 days. The weekend ended up a lot more packed than I expected. Anyway, I'm still very proud of actually completing my first game jam!

Planned Features

  • Basic background art
  • Increase enemies spawned after every 5 rounds (to 4, to 5, and so on)
  • Fix bizarre collision issues (don't tween your physics objects, kids)
  • An actual mini tutorial before gameplay
  • Other enemy types (L-movement, two rows wide, diagonal...)
  • New levels + Board expansion (4x4 and 5x5)
  • Title screen, menus and options
  • Music, SFX
  • VFX, general polish
